HIT & Miss: Nike Celtic 2011/12 International Away Kit

MISS: This Celtic kit looks like somewhere between a bruised banana and watching a Bumblebee spin on it’s back while on drugs.

Oh Nike…. We love your commercials and your glorious photo shoots but, your Kit Design Department needs a stern talking to.

Turning the 11/12 Barca and Inter shirt’s stripes sideways and changing the colors is not original or pretty. Please go back to the drawing board.

The Anxiety Of Ordering New Kit Online

1) Deciding where to buy it from.

Do you take the safe route (and probably more expensive one) and order it from the official club store or go bargain hunting and risk the kit not being authentic?

2) Home or away?

Home shirts are classic and pretty popular. But, are they too popular? Will you end up just blending into a crowd of fandom? Away shirts offer the complete opposite problem. Are they too obscure that no one will know who you’re supporting?

3) Customization

You’re all time favorite player or your new current love? Like Xabi Alonso or Fábio Coentrão, Steven Gerrard or Luis Suárez,  Xavi or Alexis Sanchez. Established players are a safe bet and you worry less about them being transfered. New players are well, shiny and new! Not many others will have them but, then what if they don’t work out and leave?

Another alternative is getting your own name on the back which is cool. Or nothing at all but, that’s just not as fun.

4) Sizing and Fit

So you’ve picked a store, a shirt, and a name. Now what size are you? Ordering online means that if you get this wrong, there are no returns. You either have to drown in your oversized shirt or give it to your younger sibling. And that simply will not do.

5) Shipping

Just when you thought it was over, you get hit with the check out button. It all comes down to “How quickly do you wanted it and how much more money do you want to spend?”

6) Arrival

Let’s face it; no matter how much frustration and pain the buying process puts us through, you rarely care when you’re tearing into the packaging and throwing on your new kit. You feel like you’re part of the team, a better fan even. It’s a moment of pure happiness that only a diehard knows.

Rumored Nike Euro 2012 Kits: France, Netherlands, Portugal. Plus Brazil’s WC Qualifying kit.

Right, so we don’t know how legit these leaked kits are. But, we’ll evaluate them anyways.

France’s looks sort of like they took the stripes from the 2011 away and threw it on to the home kit. They’re not bad but, they’re not spectacular either.

Netherlands, actually we sort of like them. There could never be any doubt than the home kit would be orange. The geometric shapes make both home & away interesting.

Portugal, not a huge change from the current home shirt. We like the away a lot though.

Brazil, They got rid of the loading bar across their chest! Love the shade of blue on the away as well.

What do you all think?

This UK Teacher Is Trying To Buy ALL The National Team Jerseys

Nick Warrick teaches math(s) in the UK, and, starting with a St. Kitts And Nevis shirt he purchased in 2004, has gone about attempting to buy a shirt from every national team in the world. The better part of a decade and more than £20,000 later, he’s getting awfully close. He has 186 now, just 22 short of completing the full set of FIFA nations.

NIKE FOOTBALL UNVEILS 2012/2013 BRASIL NATIONAL TEAM KITS

Nike Football’s new Brasil uniform for 2012-2013 celebrates Jeitinho Brasileiro (“The Brasilian Way”) — the spirit that encompasses the resilience, creativity and relentlessly positive and innovative approach that has helped make the Brasil National Team the most successful in the history of football.

The Brasilian home jersey, affectionately known as Amarelinha (“Little Yellow One”), has become a revered national symbol that represents both the hopes of the Brasilian people and their vibrant and diverse culture.

The new away kit contains the same distinctive features as the home kit, but is entirely in varsity royal blue with yellow trim. The shorts are blue, and for the first time feature a thick yellow stripe along each side. The socks are blue with a tonal band of diamonds around the center.

In line with Nike’s commitment to superior athletic performance and lower environmental impact, the fabric of the new shorts is made with 100% recycled polyester, while the fabric of the jerseys is made with at least 96% recycled polyester. Kits are made using an average of 13 recycled plastic bottles.

Simplified Football T-shirts

Who says football is complex? It’s a matter of analyzing it in stride and you will realize that behind all the rules, goals, training, etc., There is a passion that is marked by color rather than the above mentioned. Thus this personal project is to show the football shirt of a country plus four exponents ofthe sport, to see how the simplicity of each shirt is the difference, beauty is marked by the colors and designs of each uniform.
